About the Thane Branch of WIRC of ICAI

Due to consistent efforts and support from Managing Committee members, Members in the Region and proper guidance from the Seniors in the Region as well support and help from Regional Council Members and Central Council Members, Branch has developed in a very short span from its establishment. Branch has DCO office of ICAI which has proved to be a great service to all the members in and around region for submission of the Membership Fees and also to Students for Registration of CA course, for acquiring Study Material etc. With in such a short time, we are able to start two ITT Centre at Thane as well as have started Reading Rooms also at Thane, which are very useful to Students. For the benefit of the students, we are regularly conducting courses like ITT, Advance ITT, MCS and Orientation program at Thane, which are compulsory as a part of the CA Course.

There are total 2 study circles under the Branch, Thane CPE Study Circle and Thane Midtown CPE Study Circle which are also very active and we conduct various programs and RRC with these study circles. Since long we are also conducting International Study tours and various members including CCM have attended the same and guided us in the tours. Programs for Members are also organized taking in to consideration their needs like series on topics like Direct & Indirect Taxation, Seminars on GST, Information and Technology Symposium for IT Persons, Corporate Law, Seminar for Members in Industry etc., so also workshops on Tally, Excel, XBRL are also organized by the branch on various occasions for the benefit of Members And Students.

The Branch also conducts various certification courses for benefits of the members. The following courses are conducted regularly (a) Concurrent Audits (b) DISA (c) International Taxation (d) Co-operatives (e) FAFP etc. It’s the regular feature of the branch to organize various Mega Event Seminars for Members as well as for Students. Under branch, even WICASA activity is also conducted with full gist and enthusiasm.

RRC of the Students is one of the popular events under the Branch banner. We were instrumental in conducting student’s conference with overwhelming response of more than 800 students for a consecutive period of last 10 years. The Branch had conducted various mega events including a CA Members Conference (TAXATHON) with overwhelming response of more than 300 CA members in the past. Women’s wing is also active under the branch, which regularly conducts program for Ladies Members and also some tech savvy programs for our Professional Sisters, which is also one of the popular and acclaimed events during the year.

Apart from the organizing programs, even the Members of the Branch take active participation in various social programs conducted by other organization in Thane. To highlight a few we participate in Navavarsha Swagat Yatra, at Thane by having our float, distribution of CA prospectus to all students aspiring the CA course, Other career counseling methods are also adopted on this occasion by way of taking ahead a career counseling job of ICAI in a different manner. ICAI Thane Branch actively participates in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) we regularly are instrumental in organise Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Blood Donation Camps, Distribution of Literacy kits and foods to poor and needy students in Thane.

We have participated in an event like “Rashtriya Geet Samuha Gayan” at Dadoji Kondev Stadium, Thane which had created a world record and this program found a place in Guinness Book of World Record. We have organized…. (i) Preventive Health Checkup for the Members and their family. (ii) Conducting Yoga classes for the Members is one of the unique activities organized by Thane Branch.
